I wish you had been able to find a reporter who wanted to do a human interest story. JW's try and say they don't break up families. Imagine you out in the driveway and a reporter asking your Mom why she is shunning you! A story like that would shut down the local KH preaching work almost completely.
Sorry she is so blind to the fact that she is being used by the WT Society as a pawn in a battle prevent it's membership from leaving en masse.
