I would say both. I would still just as soon kill one as look at them!

both
It is immoral to hurt people that you supposedly care about.
It is immoral to not see the pain you cause.
It is an illness but without cure so they are always a danger to others

so if you can fix the immoral part of the problem, is that enough to overcome the sick part?

No.
I don't think, however, that "immoral" is quite the right word....
I think Amoral would be closer....
im·mor·al

–adjective
1. violating moral principles; not conforming to the patterns of conduct usually accepted or established as consistent with principles of personal and social ethics.
a·mor·al2. licentious or lascivious / e?'m?r

l, a-mawr-, ey-mor-, a-mor- ] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation –adjective
1. not involving questions of right or wrong; without moral quality; neither moral nor immoral. 2. having no moral standards, restraints, or principles; unaware of or indifferent to questions of right or wrong: a completely amoral person.
I think the second definition of Amoral fits much more closely than either of the definitions of Immoral. Often, sex offenders are so broken that them being amoral really fits

They are both, they have deeply seated psychological problems perhaps due to an unhappy unfulfilled childhood that leads them to seeking sexual relations with children which of course will damage them most likely in a long term way.
They should seek psychotherapy to get over their problems.

so how would one get well?
do you need to fix the sick part of you to fix the moral

I agree stilla, what I don't understand is why the society won't recognize that.
spiritual health and mental health are two different things.
and does the secular world recognize the moral health, sexually-ill people need to learn?
