I think John Lennon summed it up pretty well:

    God is a concept,
    By which we can measure,
    Our pain,
    I'll say it again,
    God is a concept,
    By which we can measure,
    Our pain,
    I don't believe in magic,
    I don't believe in I-ching,
    I don't believe in Bible,
    I don't believe in Tarot,
    I don't believe in Hitler,
    I don't believe in Jesus,
    I don't believe in Kennedy,
    I don't believe in Buddha,
    I don't believe in Mantra,
    I don't believe in Gita,
    I don't believe in yoga,
    I don't believe in kings,
    I don't believe in Elvis,
    I don't believe in Zimmerman,
    I don't believe in Beatles,
    I just believe in me...

I was praying and just simply had the epiphany I was only talking to myself.

    Amen, brother!

I begged God to let me know if He was there.

    He said He wasn't.

But that it's going to be ok.

    LOL!

    God is a Metaphor

There is a word called theophobia which means the fear of God. The JWs have been infected with this stifling fear because of the twisted doctrines of the FDS which were intentionally formulated in a twisted way in order to create this theophobia. Otherwise a healthy relationship with god based on love and not fear is definitely non toxic.

Yes, I consider myself a Christian. It implies that I believe that Jesus is the son of God and that he died for me, was resurrected, etc......

However, a poster commented, The only way to follow Jesus is to know the Word that was written for us to follow.

Here is where the rub comes in and why I chose the name Quandry.

I never believed the Trinity, even when I was in a church before becomming a JW. I don't want to believe in hellfire.

But neither do I believe that any organization can just state 1874 marked the end, then 1914, then 1925 all the "ancient worthies" will be resurrected. and all the other doctrinal flip flops and then tell me that if I don't believe every idiotic thing they publish which is not found in the Bible, that I am worthy of destruction.

So, what to follow? What to follow? Will we all go to heaven? Will the earth be a paradise? What does Jesus want?
