    oh contrair cabasilas, you state:

The OKM article does not forbid the use of encyclopedias and other "secular" materials by individual JWs.

the qb starts with rejecting group study, but then comments that "thus the FDS does not endorsy (ANYTHING)NOT PRODUCED OR ORGANIZED UNDER ITS DIRECTION"

thus killing two birds with one stone. the organized part is about no more group study, but as to what is approved to study whether alone or in groups is clearly stated it must be PRODUCED by the FDS.

Just stick to the WT logo please all.....coaster

I think the poster's piont was that "does not endorse" doesn't technically equate to forbidding the practices. However, anyone familiar with historical shifts in JW practices and doctrine will correctly detect the dung-scented winds these few paragraphs are blowing into the lives of JWs.

Initially, smoking was only a practice that was considered "ill-advised", then no one could have a position of service in the congregation if they smoked, then everyone had six months to stop or be expelled to protect the cleanliness of the congregation.

This cycle has been repeated so many times that we recognize it immediately in its initial stages for what it really represents; but the poster is technically correct, in this case.

    Respectfully,
    AuldSoul
