IIRC, the WT 1/15/08 will be the first internal-use-only edition. Anyone knows when these will be shipped to the congregations?
When is the internal Watchtower edition shipped?

I wonder if the worldwide report will be published in the internal or the public edition.
My guess is it will be in the internal one because it traditionally appears in the middle of study articles.
A lot of crap has been written about this new arrangement on this forum by the way: They have evidently done it to rationalise Watchtower placements alongside the single monthly edition and to save a little money - not some crazy mind controlling scheme regular wackos on this site would have you believe.

SBF - You MAY be right, but then again, you may be wrong. This will be very interesting to see mainly because a lot of us, and may I include myself as I was a dub for nearly forty years and many on the board for much longer, KNOW how the society work.
It may well be a money saving exercise. BUT, if you have read some of the BS in WT articles in the last few years you too will wonder if they realise they cannot keep printing this BS and getting away with it with the public.
How about the advice for husbands to counsel their wives from the bible if they thought their hem length was wrong, or they wore too much make up! The public would recoil in horror to even see such total baloney!!
All the 'nasty' stuff needs to be kept 'private' to avoid them continually embarrassing themselves, especially since it all gets pasted onthe internet for a good 'laugh' and plateful of scorn!!!!
So, we will see in the future. But I'm willing to bet that there's going to be some pretty twisted and crazy stuff in the new mags simply becuase the bOrg is the bOrg! Control! Control! Control!

The Society knows the new format will generate a lot of interest and scrutiny on apostate sites so I expect the first issues will be fairly bland (even more so than normal).
I just think the normal twaddle will be there without the need to sugar-coat it for public consumption. The magazines have always been major tools for manipulating the minds & behaviour of the followers and I don't think that will change.

My question is how many in the public actually read the WT articles if they accept the magazine?
Really now, how many JW actually read the WT articles when they actually have the magazines regularly all the time?
Chances are that those in the public who may accept the magazines are showing a kind gesture to the publisher offering them. I really don't think that it's something that they are waiting hand and foot for. Sure, the general public may peruse a WT magazine while skimming and glancing and trying to look for something that might catch their interest other than just looking at the picture illustrations.
They only ones who read the magazines with heightened interest are (1) only a handful of hardcore JWs (2) apostates who are still interested in the working of the WTS and (3) JW who are still in [like me] who are aware of the misleading of some of the teachings of the WTS.
Bible studies who regularly receive magazines on pioneer routes probably read the magazines as thoroughly as probably 80% of all other active baptized Jehovah's Witnesses. Really, how many of you know of any Bible student who devours the information in the magazines? Right. Just as I thought. Not many. The same goes for the R&F.
I just think this new magazine arrangement is a needed cost cutting measure.

I tend to agree with Slimboyfat, The recent Kingdom News Leaflet was hard hitting in its comments about homosexuality, and that was designed for public consumption with no concession to Political Correctness - so I think it will be business as usual.
