Dear Scotsman: I too am glad you are here. Whether or not you have figured it out yet, you are here because you have doubts. You are here because something deep inside of you is nagging at you and you don't know what it is. You will soon be one of us, and when you realize that you will feel free for this first time since you became a witness.
I do not give too many details of my own expereince in the open forum, as I am a "fader' and do not what to "get into trouble", but believe me, I've seen it all. I spent an entire lifetime in the "truth", not on the fringes put in the center of the mix. The WT is NOT the truth. Never was, never will be. Once you realize that, at first you will be reeling, but you'll get your bearings soon enough, and slowly but surerly all the scales will fall off of your eyes. You will see everything in a whole new light .
It's wonderful to be free. I can't wait till you join us.

What about the high moral standard displayed by Jehovahs people. No involvement in war or politics.
They are certainly involved it politics. They had PROTEST marches when the French govt tried to tax them "unfairly"
What ever happened to the "command" to him that demands the tax pay the tax.
The involvment with the U. N. as a N.G.O. also shows that they don't mind getting "dirty" with the old harlot if it suits their purposes.
I guess it's ok cause god gave them a special condom to wear..

... that's all they seem to be doing - just plugging gaps in their doctrine with "junk food" which tides people over until someone else finds another hole. Then as quick as you can say "New Light", the Governing Body throws a spiritual hot-dog in the microwave !

With me it was a lot of things... including, 'lack of true love' among the witnesses, false prophesies & doctrinal issues that caused me to leave the Watchtower's Truth . But, the 'straw that broke the camel's back' was a blood doctrine 'flip-flop'. You may consider it as 'minor' or insignificant. To me...it was everything.
My JW Mom died a few years ago, because, of the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses prohibition of blood transfusions. If my Mom had taken blood into her body, according to what was then WT law, she thought, she would be displeasing to Jehovah and would have been disfellowshipped. And, with The End Being So Close ™, as always...she was afraid she might be murdered by her Almighty Loving ™ God at Armageddon. So, she died faithful, right ?
Now, please reconcile the following and tell me why I should not hate the Watchtower Society: 1) My Mom died from a lack of oxygen to her brain...she smothered to death while her family, friends, doctors & nurses watched. 2) Red Blood cells would have saved her. Hemoglobin, which comprises 97% of a red blood cell would have saved her, too, by transporting oxygen to her brain & body. 3) It's still against WT Law for a Witness to accept Red Blood cells, right ? 4) Did you know... that if my Mom was still alive today and faced with the same situation...THE WATCHTOWER NOW ALLOWS JW'S TO TAKE HEMOGLOBIN ????? As a Conscience Matter ? So...the Watchtower's Truth ...expired ! You could not take Hemoglobin one day...and the next day ? It's OK...because the Governing Body that you admire so much...have thought of a New Light Truth ™ ...that people are expected to die faithfully over, just like the Olde Light Truth ™ . If the Governing Body actually is at the other end of a Godly spiritual pipeline...then God murdered my 'faithful' Mom by changing the rules. Otherwise...the Governing Body murdered my Mom...pretending to speak for God. And as others have posted...for many years the WT said, organ transplants would "displease Jah, because it was cannibalism" and you'd get DF if you got one. Then, one day that Truth ™ expired, too. The very next day, IF YOU WERE STILL ALIVE...transplants were A-OK. Lot's of JW's died over that one. They are liars, hypocrites, pretenders or delusional. Whatever...they are dangerous. So, please...explain how the WT's Governing Body deserves my belief, faith or respect. Sincerely, Rabbit

Wouldn't you say, Scotsman, that many of the Witness teachings have to do with rules and behavior? This is where we see the most flip-flops. Flip-flops are not progressive, as a brightening light would be.
These ever-changing rules in my opinion, cannot be called "truth", but rather one society's attempt to frame behavior, to build on God's (much shorter) list of commandments. This steady re-visiting and refining of doctrine is very similar to the ancient Talmud, in my opinion.
Despite all of this - where else can we go to have a verse by verse explanation of Revelation - Daniel, Ezekiel etc.

The Witness message is nearly useless without first a belief in the bible as the divine Word of God. Hence, their nearly invisble presence in muslim nations and in China. The following organizations are spread to more lands and distribute more literature than the Witnesses.
