Will The Watchtower Society sometime in the near future spring a complete surprise on us? Or, will it come as no surprise to anyone if they spring a complete surprise on us? Hence my title topic, on surprises not surprisnig.

In the past they thought that they had surprised us with new light, old truth, present truth, new truth etc. For instance: The recent Blood and 1935 debacle, the one month Awake, the two different Watchtowers one for the public with no study article and one for the Organization with study article, was that a surprise, or no surprise? Any other surprises that might be coming up ie. Conventions etc. that you can think of that really will be no surprises at all?

Blueblades Who is not surprised at anything they may come up with anymore.

I'm surprised you're asking this. Seriously, the WT. usually throws hints along the way. Nothing seems to be done unless they map it out. I think most of us remain unsurprised by whatever the WT. comes up with next.

I'm asking this because most of us that have been here for some time are certaintly not surprised. However, I surmise that lurkers and the rank and file get surprised, because it seems to me that we here get the information way before the rank and file get it at the Kingdom Hall.

What I wrote and asked in my original post topic was because I think that many among the rank and file do get surprised by what comes down the pipeline at the Kingdom Hall. I remember many times all the buzzing that went on after a certain announcement was given at the hall. The new awake, the new watchtower , new understanding on Blood Transfusions, 1935 etc. Yes, many still do get surprised because they are not in the loop as we are.

Sudden changes? Forget about doctrine, look at legal/financial and you could be right.

I've long argued on this board that the organization is threatened by its centralized chain of command.

The trail of liability goes from Bethel appointed elders thru the C.O. up to Headquarters. Can you

say "deep pockets"? It's becoming much like the former Soviet Union in which its Eastern European

satellites had to be set free for financial reasons.

    History may repeat itself.

I think the Watchtower Society thinks they are full of suprises, but its like you say, its not a suprise to anyone here.
