finally found a distance calculator. I will be travelling between London, England, United Kingdom and Dallas, Texas, United States, as the crow flies:

    4757 miles (7656 km) (4134 nautical miles)

Initial heading from London to Dallas:
    west-northwest (296.4 degrees)
Initial heading from Dallas to London:
    northeast (41.6 degrees)

I think thats pretty much a long way for a LONG weekend! WOW!

Oh Kudra you're a girl after my own heart.......I love cleaning! Yeah I know I'm pretty weird, but I do like to clean and now I'm going to have to get me one of those Mr.Clean thingies, whippeeee!

Currently I am waiting on a pot full of TWO week old pasta residue to soak. It was pasta shells, which are all scraped out, but made a rather interesting imprint on the bottom of the pot that are rather reminiscent of fingerprint patterns.

I have found the best way to get old residue outa pots and pans is to cover residue with hot water and add automatic dishwasher detergent just about a table spoon of it and let it soak for at least 30 minutes. It has the enzyme in it to eat up the proteins and loosen them up the stuff will literally pour out. Hee, hee have fun!

Crumpett are you going to fly over and clean Kudra's house?

Crumpet has to wear a little French maid outfit if she's coming to clean my house!!

    :P

Hm- perhaps I should fly... the drive would add days to the trip, and I have tons of work to do the first couple of weeks of May... Maybe someone could pick me up n stuff. It might even be cheaper.

Too funny about the Q-tips Serendipity!! I think that the last time I used Q-tips to clean was when my mom was coming to visit my college apartment. I was sitting on the pot looking at my bathroom "with my mother's eyes" and started seeing ALL this stuff that I never saw before that I should clean... the baseboards, little cracks and crevices...

Bikerchic- I am so serious about those "Mr Clean" pads- they are really white- I am sure you've seen them in the store. I thought the mop with that stuff on the bottom would not work cause there is no abrasive surface to scrub with, but with like, one swipe, stains that I had tried to scrub scrub scrub off before with abrasive mops came off like magic.

And thanks for the tip on the auto dishwasher stuff. It's kind of scary how these cleaning chemicals work... I used to try to get everything clean with water, vinegar and citrus. Now- screw it! Give me the nasty chemicals!!!!

Thank you all. My life doesn't look as bad as it did before I read this thread. Since I think all of you are awesome, I will put the mundane reality of life into perspective-since life is filled with mundane things-punctuated with a bit of drama/fear/danger to spice it up a bit.

I did the dishes last night, then went to bed early. I didn't eat dinner with hubby since he has pissed me off (once again) and is not speaking to me. . .so why should I sit through a dinner with him? Besides, he got in the mood to cook, so it was overcooked halibut and disintgrating noodleroni. Its a crime to do that to perfect halibut. Fortunately, I have tons of it-my brother is a fishing guide in AK and brings home LOTS of it, and I am the one with the extra freezer.

Are you as bored by me as I am???

    JWdaughter-

No- totally NOT bored by your story/night!!!

I mean come on- we've been getting excited over some cleaning products!!!

I think that these "mundane" things are interesting little insights that we usually do not get about other people's lives.

I was using the new "Mr Clean" brand mop with the white pad that is advertised to clean crayon off walls, many different types of stains, etc. -Also sold as individual scrubbing pads.

Are those like the Mr. Clean Magic Erasers? Those are freakin awesome!

So the really great news is that it got my bathroom floor cleaner than I could have ever thought was possible! I didn't even have to lean on the mop and do heavy scrubbbing (and trust me- this is one FOUL floor). I must admit I am a little scared of what might be in that cleaning pad, it worked so well.

    Nice.

So instead of actual cleaning I'm "talking" about cleaning to pass the time.
