Check out Marianne Faithfull's version of As Tears Go By. She released it a year before The Stones released their version of it. I like their version better.

Gotta admire the lady, she ruined her voice and kept singing anyway.

I think my new favorite is the bluegrass version of Stairway to heaven by Dolly Parton...

Bruce Springsteen originally wrote and recorded "Blinded by the Light" in 1973. The song and album (his first) was not well received...

Three years later, Manfred Mann's Earth Band recorded it, and it hit big...

I was going to mention Marilyn Manson's Covers but BW beat me to it.

Type O Negative also has some very interesting covers. It's too early for me to think right now. I know they did a Britney song just not placing

which one though. I'm thinking "Oops, I did it again." They did a version of "Summer Breeze."

Faith No More's cover of "Easy" deserves an honorable mention, as does their cover of "War Pigs".

Ween does all sorts of awesome covers at their live shows. Some of the best I've heard over the years have been:

"These Eyes" by The Guess Who

    "Purple Rain" by Prince

"Gin & Juice" by Snoop Dog

"All Of My Love" by Led Zeppelin
