Jehovah's promises conditional?

A comment was made at my Circuit Assembly that bothered me.
"Jehovah will keep his promises to you IF you keep your promises to Him."
So now, I guess, Jehovah can make a promise and recant it at any time?
Just bugged me.

Yeah, that's pretty much the way it's always been - "If you keep my covenant, I'll bless you - but slip up once, and my wrath will rage against you." Repeated a thousand or so times throughout the old testament.

To them JEHOVAH=WTBTS they only make one promise that if you do what they tell you then you will get eternal life . I wonder what kind of promises a j-dub makes to JEHOVAH.....

Remember when you talk to god, that's acceptable. When he talks to you and starts making promises, that means you are crazy. Then you might want to check into rehab.

5th Generation:
What if you made promises to him under false pretenses (not yours but theirs). In other words, because of the religion's misrepresentations. I feel like I was a victim of bait and switch. How would such a promise be binding?
