Great movie..........one of the best last year.
As George Carlan would say "Hay! we love to fight, we are a war like nation, we can't make a vcr worth a F.... but we can bomb your country! Especially if it is full of brown people"

Has anyone seen the movie "Death of a President" ? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=04CnuueGKNA
I would like to recomend this film as it makes some very important points. Would like to start a thread about this movie but can not post a new thread for another 12 hours. The film takes real stituations, and makes a plot around GW Bushes assasination, they convict a innocent muslem man for the murder and then find out it was a war veteran who lost two sons in the present Iraq war, and in the end still leave the innocent man convicted. Very thought provoking.

I would not see or pimp "Death of a President" for a simple reason. I honestly that this movie is an assassination threat against a sitting President. I would not support any movie that made this threat regardless of the political party he was affilited with. It simply disgusts me that the leftist fringe is so full of hate towards this President that they would make a snuff film involving him.
Edited to add: The more of this sort of stuff is made by the leftists, the more I am reminded of the Clinton haters of the 90s. A bunch of kooks so full of hate that they can't keep their moral compass focused on what is right, and instead embrace wrong.

XJ,
I think the movie makes a very valid point, I think it sadly portrays, the disolutionment that many americans must feel after having lost a son or a daughter fighting a war started by lies of Bush both to the congress and the american people.
I do feel sorry for any who have lost a son or daughter in this war, and who latter comes to the realization that it wasn't for the cause of freedom, but big business and big profits.

The US government has by its actions caused many americans to question authority, it has lost credibility. They can restore some credibility, by being more transparent and open with their own taxpayers. The old clique of "fighting for the cause of freedom" don't seem to work like it used to. The moral high ground that the US trys to apear standing on is giving way to broader communications partly do to the world wide web.
The suspension of human privacy and rights to a fair trial by the Partiot Act, have shown where the currant administration stands as to the cause of freedom. Big Brother is getting more and more like G. Orwells 1984 all the time.

As for as the post above, I am not commetning on the justification for the war, I am commenting on the appriateness of staging a fictional assassination of a sitting President. My issue is that the producers of the movie deliberately made a snuff film using a sitting President as their target. That is so far out of the bounds of common decency that no words can express my utter contempt for them and this snuff film. I would have been just as outraged if any of the pathological Clinton-haters had made a movie involving the fictional assassination of then President Clinton.
The point could have been made, and been more palletable had the producers showed a thimble full of respect for the Office of the Presisdent by creating a fictional President rather than a sitting one. Instead the producers decided to take the low road and titillate the pathological Bush-haters. The whole thing is utterly disgusting.
