I am sad to say that I know a few people who think along these lines.

Usually, rather than offering reason or logic in their own support - the "proof" boils down to saying that "science doesn't know everything" and saying stuff like "it was only in the last 100 years that scientists even knew about atoms, blah blah blah". Then they blather on about perpetual motion, what constellation God lives in, ESP, cold fusion, etc.

And here I had assumed that the "Flat Earth Society" was kind of a tongue-in-cheek joke amoung some fairly smart insiders.

Guess not totally, huh?

i dont think you should be sad. i find people like this highly amusing. a boring world it would be if everyone agreed with science.
