A virgin - no children (works), and no husband (ruling spirit/way)

Works (like field service) aren't a prerequisite for God - it simply isn't something earned

I would think she probably spent some time in the temple (contemplation)

Does anyone get this stuff ?

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

those who are accounted worthy to attain to that age and to the resurrection from the dead neither marry nor are given in marriage

Virgin after Jesus' birth ? Well, it was made clear that one doesn't have to lose their virginity to have children.

Just a reading from Matthew 1: 24 suggests strongly that Mary did not remain a virgin...

"When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife. But he had no union with her until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus."

    That "until" part speaks volumes.
