I got tired of being told I had to worship an organization in order to live forever in a paradise where I would worship an organization.

Basically, at a time when I needed love and support, because of depression and attempted suicide. All I got was a Judicial Committee. Later on told to leave my family because I was a "spiritual danger" to them. This after being a JW for 25 years at the time and a Min Servant. This led me to question "Jehovahs loving organisation" as they think it is. I started looking into their history and teachings etc. I spent nearly three years research before eventually leaving.

I came across this forum which was, and still is, a tremendous help, because you realise its not just you who has these experiences and thoughts about the WT.

    Field Service.

That's how I got out of the cult.

I kept meeting born again Christians at their doorsteps who knew the right questions to ask.

One day a pastor's wife asked me if I would be DF'd for going to the YMCA and using their pool. This prompted me to really think because recently some JW friends from out of state came to visit and I suggested we go to the "Y" to swim. They about crapped their britches and said, "No, way. If the brothers found out we'd be in trouble." I said, "All the brothers here go to the "Y" because its the best swimming hole in the Park and has some pretty high cliffs. I was talking about the "Y" intersection just outside Townsend, TN in the Great Smoky Mtns. National Park while they thought I meant the YMCA.

I said, "no." but didn't really have a clue about if I'd be DF'd or not. She said the Watchtower Society would DF me if I formed an alliance with the United Nations. I said sure but no JW is going to do that. She said the Watchtower Society did and that the UN would tell me if I called them.

She also asked me if it is wrong to worship Jesus.

The Watchtower Society did form an alliance with the UN and I severed my alliance with the Watchtower Society when I found out.

That opened the door for me to check out what "Babylon the Great" teaches where I discovered that the early church worshipped Jesus.

Wow thanks guys I look for ward to hearing more. I see were working under an organization to get into a paradise where you are only still under the same system is little more than circular reasoning. Gordy I'm glad you were able to find the love Jesus. Was it hard researching there history while still under the organization. Did they give you alot of problems or try to cover up their history? ( if you don't me asking if so thats fine)

Field Service So it turned out that what the enmey had meant for evil(witness to build the WTS organization) actually turned out for the good( your salvation). It is very encouraging to hear your testimony because I have prayed and been praying prayers that such things as that would happen were the devices of a cult would actually lead to the deliverance of people from the cult. To hear your testimony has really encouraged me that it really can and does happen. It truly is fuel for my prayers.

Don't underestimate the ties that bind loyal Witnesses to the organization, veritas. Pray that these chains be removed.

Certaintly to underestimate such tie would be a serious folly, one I hope never to make. Are there other strong ties outside of the brainwashing, that hold those loyal to the organization?

If you don't care for the doctrine, you are there because of family or social ties. If you have none of these, you are gone. In fact, the family and social ties keep me in for the time being.

For years as a child I would ask questions and get non-answers such as, "you're too young to understand" or "when you're baptized, you'll be able to understand". So at age 12 I succumed to the pressure and got dunked. Wouldn't you know it, answers were still not forthcoming and being baptized made no difference. It made me want to seek answers outside of the confines of the dark cave of thought control so well practiced by the JWs. I was kicked out at age 14, officially for dissobedience to my parents. The real reason was I was on to their scam and as much as told them so. No one would be honest with me so it was a mutual dissadmiration relationship.
