    On Luther's anti-Semitism: Much of Luther's anti-Semitic writings came at the end of his life. It was his view that once the Jews saw that the Reformation was different from Roman Catholicism, that they would flock to the Reformed faith. When the conversion of the Jews didn't happen, he got bitter.

    Indeed the GB of the JWs seem to have learnt many things from the Popes and their authoritarian style of rule while accusing them at the same time of being oppressive and unreasonable. Just as authoritarianism went out of fashion with the popes it found a new home in the GB.
