However a jw wrote to his local council(Patterson NY) saying something needed to be done about the traffic.
IS THIS HYPOCRISY?
It's not hypocritical for a jw to make a request to a local authority at all. They have to do this if, for example, they want to build a new kingdom hall. As long as they are in subjection to the superior authorities, ie paying taxes, keeping the law etc, they have the right to make such requests. What would be hypocritical is voting in a local or national election, or joining a political party or the UN (but they did that anyway)
