There is more to Family than simple biology.
Family means being there when no one else will.
Family means giving, with an open heart.
Family means love, in whatever form it takes and above all else, it's okay.
I suspect you have given far mor than you have received. At this point, with all due respect, give to those who care about you and are willing to love you and accept who you are irregardless of what others think.
One of the saddest things I've witnessed happened nearly 20 years ago. A gay man was dying and his partner was forbidden by his family to even visit his life partner, the love of his life, while he was dying.
And so I say, family is more than simple biology. Attach yourself to those who truly care about you and embrace the positive.
