Bethellites and the opposite sex (potential dating pool)

I did not want to respond, because my experience was sort of on the other side of the fence.

Seems like when I was on the dating scene: bethellites were getting the pick of the litter.

Every hot girl out there was patrolling the assembly hall for bethellites only!!! (I live in a 40 mile rad. of brooklyn). When I would meet someone new, seemed like the 3rd or 4th question from their mouth (are you a bethellite)?

I am happily married, and I am glad that some of these girls are beasts now!

It is an unfair world, but I hope these bethellites get what they deserve!

I agree with you about how people thought Bethelites got "pick of the litter".But I found them unappealing, unmasculine and a little crazy.

As far as I was concerned they could never measure up to a guy who deals with the real world. They seemed androidish to me.

Not looking for a Bethelite myself, but the ones I have met are absolutely out of touch with reality.

Their every response seems somehow "canned", kind of like when you go on European vacation and need to consult the phrase book before speaking. Now that we can see the vaunted ones ejected from their little fishbowl they are looking pretty pathetic. I would bet that an awful lot of these fired ones get DF'd pretty quick.

Does that make any sense?

Yes, it makes perfect sense.

Somebody who is cooped up in an ivory tower year after year, who is fed and clothed, given an assignment, and believes misleading information about the outside world and who finds themselves flung into it would suffer shock, no?

I guess it would be like being plunged into ice-cold water.

This is based only on my personal experience, but I find that the guys I know of that went to or are still at bethel are quite femine in nature and don't seem to be real men.

They also seem to be very out of touch with reality, and yes,, many of their conversations, responses, etc seem to be taken directly from the WT.

That being said, I still found that the 'bethelites' were often targeted by women that were spiritual gold diggers. I never did understand why a woman would target only bethelites,

since they usually had poor job skills, no house to live in, and can't have kids with them unless you leave bethel.

I could never understand this either. As if being knowledgeable about WT doctrines or the scriptures makes them better in bed (whatever)! The ones I met were a little off their rocker and LESS desirable than any brother in the hall.

One pathetic middle-aged one who visited my hall some years ago got a little paranoid when I commented on his talk after the meeting. He thought I was a man eater trying to flirt with him (I wasn't). I didn't have the heart to insult him and it wasn't the time or the place. I am thinking to myself: "this is a homely guy who probably has ten dollars in his pocket and he thinks he's desirable". Yeah, gotta beat these sisters back with a stick!

But, I guess all these idiot women who DO chase them give them this idea.

I agree with you. I remember meeting one at a wedding. Thankfully he was interested in my cousin but she didn't like him either. Very pushy and a bit squirrely. Turned me off to any "brother" coming out of bethel.
