Sounds like you are making all the sacrifices, but at the same time, from what he seems to enjoy, he does'nt sound like the "candle light and romantic dinner" kind of guy. I'm sure he appreciates you, but is really lousy at showing it, in part due to a JW upbringing.
I think you should spice things up a bit. And use positive reinforcement. We men are VERY simple animals. Give us a treat after we perform a trick and we will very likely perform the trick again! LOL. Make reservations at a romantic restaurant and if he gives you an anniversary gift, reward him with some hot sex. If he does'nt come through with at least some kind of symbolic act for the anniversary (at the very least some flowers and a nice and thoughtful card), he doesnt get the "reward". Simple as that! LOL
