Our family told us not to do it.
Our friends told us not to join that "cult" Jehovah's Witnesses.
They said "are you crazy?".........."dont' do it"..............."don't you realize what you're doing?"........."you're becoming a what!!!!???????............"join anyone but them, please!!!!!".
So then, with all these warnings, isn't it all just our own fault?
Aren't we all in our own predicaments because we wouldn't and didn't listen?

Well, some of us were born and raised in it...didn't have much choice. I guess we can blame our parents or grandparents.
Yes. It really is. Did "I was following orders" work for Nazi war criminals? No.
We must take responsibility for our actions. We must disobey orders and reject beliefs that we believe are wrong, immoral, or incorrect.
No excuses, it's definitely my fault. I wasn't raised as a jw, I joined of my own free will, and eventually had to suffer the consequences. My parents, brother, then - boyfriend and other friends pleaded with me not to join, but I wouldn't listen to any of them, I just went right ahead and became a jw.
For those who were born in or whose parents joined and the kids were raised in = no responsibility. It wasn't a choice.
For those who joined, I would have a few questions
People don't deliberately join cults. They do however make choices along the way that force them to confront their own moral standards. At that point they may be forced to go along with the cult thinking/beliefs or rebel and risk expulsion.
Not necessarily our fault some people just believed it was the truth and didn't have the critical ability to find out the truth about the truth until later. You don't always trust what other people tell you, often wrongly because they are in the right.
