Why so much hate?

    Another good post Norm,

I think your essay illustrates a couple of things. First, if the WT puts it in print the R&F believe it. So, they can say in one article that they are gushing with love. Then, in another article they can give a rationale for hatred. As long as the articles are at least 6 months apart, the believers don't notice the contradiction.

They have treated several topics this way.

It is good to do research. It is bad to do research.

Our increasing numbers are God's blessing. Our decreasing numbers fulfill Bible prophecy.

War - a sign of the end. Peace - a sign of the end.

God loves you and if you don't believe it, he is going to kill you.

    Larc,

    You know I like you.
But don't say that about God.
How long have you lived and how long has God lived?
    Get the point?

    Thank you, Norm.

Those who despise Jehovah's teaching include individuals who criticize and complain about Jehovah's clean organization and its rules for maintaining peace and good order. There is only a fine line of demarcation between such and those who are outright rebels."
    The Watchtower May 15. 1984, page 17.

In other words - complain about the WTBTS and it means that we despise Jehovah. And it means that we are rebels.

What illogical nonsense! It's putting the WTBTS and Jehovah on the same level. GODS. How does "but the organization is made up of imperfect men" fit into this? Imperfect men make mistakes - and certainly can be criticized....but if we criticize imperfect men - we despise God?

The WTBTS does indeed teach that God is going to kill every man, woman, and child at Armageddon who is not saved by Him. And the WTBTS teaches that we must come to Jehovah in order to be saved. "Draw close to Him, and He will draw close to you."

Btw, the WTBTS teaches that only those who are active JW's are the only people who will be saved, because they're the only ones who have The Truth and practice The Truth. Oh, and the mentally ill might be spared.
