Often at the mall we see people asking questions for a survey. Usually I just walk by and say, "I don't have time or I'm not interested". I really hate participating in these. I find it just a waste of time for me.

Just once I made them happy and answered a few questions like, "do you smoke and how many cigarettes a day do you smoke".

How about you do you answer these surveys?

If so, what were the weirdest questions they've asked you?

    JH's survey is now over

I did once. I felt sorry for the kid trying to do the surveys because everybody was ignoring him. Stupid decision on my part. It took way too long. I will never do it again.

I do, when I feel like it. If I qualify for the audience they want and give them my opinion on whatever it is, they usually give away a couple bucks at the end. I just realized - does that make me a survey whore?

Only if they pay me for my time. It's been a while since I've participated in one. I do remember once they were doing a survey on an action movie, with lots of explosions and car chases. You know the kind of movie. I can't say that I remember if it got released, but I don't watch many action movies anyway.

Sort of related to this, I signed up with a company that does focus grous, which pays pretty well $75-125 for 2 hours. The last email they sent out was recruiting people with STDs. They must not have received much of a response because they sent it out 3 times. (I'm not eligible, so passed.)

I've taken the surveys before, but I don't anymore. Not worth taking the time, versus what else I might do with it. (Like I really do anything productive with my time!)

On a related note, have you ever seen the Animaniacs episode that had the survey ladies in it? Hilarious... I'd love to get the Animaniacs series on DVD. Pinky and the Brain... "Are you pondering what I'm pondering?"... glorious stuff...

I did once, didn't mind the time. I didn't seem to fit any of they're consumer models so it took almost 1 3/4 hours. I got to whatch movie trailers and questions about brand names.
