I don't mind reading a long comment or story or whatever if someone is expressing THEMSELVES! What I have a beef with is someone going to "whygeorgebushisatwinkie.com" clicking on "the author of this websites long winded wordy bloated unsupported theories" and pasting it into a thread!
If you think George is a twinkie tell me why YOU think he is then say "these guys agree" and post a link! If I wanted to argue with the guys at "WGBIAT.com" I would go to their site!

I agree...but sometimes it's does seem necessary to post an article, just not often. I try to post links for the most part, but when it seems that no one has read it, then I may end up posting at least part of the article. That being said, I posted an article so that it could be copied for use with a JW, as they will not dare go to an "apostate" website to read the info. Sometimes, it is useful, but most of time I would rather read the posters own comments.

If you really agree with some special website and want to share it with others, then know your subject really well. Make it your own.
Swalker, if that IS your real name...- I will personally bet you 5 bucks that if you tell someone "this article backs me up and covers points A,B,C here's the link." and not one person clicks on it, when you go and cut and paste it into the thread the same number of people read it as clicked on it originaly!
As to posting on other forums... Well go ahead, post away it won't irritate me there cause I'm here! HA!

I agree, if one wants to include massive amounts of material or think that some site has stuff people might be interested in checking-out, include a link. now that I can do the code, I try to do that if I think folks might be interested in it.

Point well taken. I tend to agree. Perhaps a very brief quote and then a link if someone wants more info.
