I want a place to call home that doesn't have winter almost half of the year. It would be nice for the seasons to actually stay within their designated three months. Any suggestions?

Oh, it needs to be close to a four year University (I'll be transfering) and culturally and artistically rich since I like live theater shows.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated, Thanks.

Your post reminds me of 4 years ago when I desired so much to move also.

I began to drive through areas of breathtaking vistas and rolling green hills.

I will never forget looking out over the canyons with cows and yellow, white and purple wild flowers and
weeping with grief that I would never get to live and enjoy that bucolic setting where my heart beckoned.

    And where am I today????

    RIGHT HERE IN PARADISE FOLKS!!!!!

    Dreams do come true!

Come to California - you get two seasons: rain or shine. Unless you're in the mountains of course.

Providence, Rhode Island area. Four distinct seasons along with Brown University, Rhode Island School of Design, a performing arts center and Johnson & Wales Culinary School. Good restaurants, interesting museums, home of the Pawtucket Red Sox, Providence Bruins and 30 minutes from the New England Patriots. Like a mini-Boston but affordable and w/o all the people.

BC is one of the most beautiful places on earth in my opinion.
And the best of most worlds.
Of course, like California, there's that little faultline issue.
And this winter there was quite a bit of rain which from the accounts I hear
depressed those normally spoiled rotten BC-ites a bit. lol. But overall, it's seasons are great, especially compared to Alberta, where we usually have a lot of snow and cold for half the year.
There are universities and there is culture and art.

Even if you don't live there, make a point to visit sometime.
And check out some of the surrounding islands.

Wow, those places sound great. Thanks everyone for your reples stilla, Delilah, anewme (though I didn't catch the place you are refering to exactly.)

Daniel-p: two seasons, interesting. Kaput: New England sounds very nice too. Rebel 8: San Francisco has the trolley cars, sounds like a fun place. SPAZnik, BC will be a definite condieration for a vacation spot.

Thanks for your suggestions. There's a melting of snow right now with the sun shining. I don't know why whenever I start to complain about the weather, that always happens here in the northern mid-west. Maybe the gods are listening and don't want me to go.

A major suprise for you, G****. This is the warmest winter we've had in ages :) And as for all of those, we have all of those here. It's just that you have to wear long underwear to enjoy it.
