  You're just like the worst of the Muslims except that you are not so far removed from reason as to kill people yourself for god - although your gloating enjoyment of predicting hellfire for those who disagree with you make this not as great a difference as you'd like to think.

  Of course, a lot of people ignore the cultural factor. This is the 15th C as far as many Muslims are concerned, not only in terms of their calander but in terms of their cultural development. In the 15th C anyone making a satrical cartoon of Jesus would have been dead in days, burnt by Priests.

  Now, despite the fact hating people is easier than understanding why some can be backward and stupid, understanding the backwardness and stupidity is a better way of ending it than hating it.

  Not that that has stopped people having a good hate in the past, as even though the West is in the 21st C, it still doesn't stop some being backward and stupid.

  I guess my point of what I liked about the article has been lost upon most. I apologize for being unclear.

  I think it's very easy, too easy, not to understand the differences in people even in the same faith or ethnicity, etc. So when a moderate person believes, as in this case, Islam is really a peaceful religion and they reject the violence...why are people still pissed off at ALL muslims ?

  Hasn't our experience in the WT taught us that all JW's really don't believe the same thing ? Sure, we are expected to think that, but, if it were true...we would not be out of this cult ourselves...right ?

  The other day I was at my Barbers, the guys were talking about the cartoons & riots.

  "All them muslims are crazy sum bitches ! Aren't they ?" one guy pro-offers.

  'Yep, Ah think what needs to happen is -- the whole mid-east needs to get nuked."

  Another says, "Yep, they wanna take over the world."

  I said, "Eh, other people besides muslims live there, too. And they live right here...whatcha gonna do.?"

  "Well, yeah, but, well...that's true and all..."

  *Sheesh* Black and White thing is dangerous...

  The same thing is being said among a lot of muslims about christians..."They're infidels..." They all deserve to die..."

  Enigma, I agree christians & muslims historically have caused the most problems. It's interesting the 3 most violent religions in the world all have one thing in common...the Old Testament of the Bible.

  The very fact that you can get away with that kind of cartoon here shows the lie of your argument. This is a society that is largely Christian yet this kind of thing goes on all of the time. You can offend Christian sensibilities all that you want without fear of being harmed. Christianity has never killed anyone: you cannot find the advocacy of murder within the New Testament and the advocacy of killing in the Old Testament was in the context of God's wrath. You CAN find the advocacy of morder by the 'Great Prohet' in his works.
  The largely (even nominal) Christian nations have protected 'free speech' and continue to offer freedom to live life as you choose. Hey, there is very little religion allowed in Cuba, North Korea and China. I guess they are utopias of freedom, have never caused the deaths of innocents like Christianity has, right?

  Idiocy reins in the mind of those who cannot admit their error and that applies directly to your typically ignorant comments. Why are you so 'anally fixated' on the middle ages? The issue is violence by the true believers of the 'Great Prophet', who has promoted the death of any who do not convert to his brand of religion. They are remaining true to his teachings. People didn't have Bibles in the middle ages, were largely illiterate, so they did not know the teachings of Christ. When the a local lord or cleric said it was time for war they went to it. BTW, if you ever studied midevial history you might realize that the reasons for the wars of those times were complex and complicated. Today's Islamist rage is the result of despotic governments and an equally despotic CULT religion that is living in the middle ages....just like you! LOL
