life is about newness, without it we would wither, it is the core purpose of life.

I would agree. Life as we see it is ever new. To be open to the changing expression of life and accepting it as it is, is to flow with life. To resist it is to cling to some idea of how things "should" be based on something in the past, something which is "old". To favor what is "old"/past is to miss life as it is right now in this very moment.

According to top psychologists we need to continue throughout life to expand our awareness of the world and our selves despite powerful inner inertia that strongly resist awarweness expansion.

Surely to remain static is not a healthy situation.

Aaaah, but to experience newness, one must know oldness, decay, putrification. One must live to die. One must die to be reborn, one must be reborn to live....

p.s. But by all means, enjoy the newness with every ounce of your being! Rejoice. And as it declines and ages as it always will, know it will return...always. Always.

exactly, hence the absurdity of "eternal" existence based upon an irrational fear of death and decay. From death springs new life, new ideas, progress, change, evolution.

The religious impulse to exist eternally goes against the very fundamentals of the natural biological world. Death is part of life and we should embrace our real lives on earth rather than

look to illusory eternity in imaginary cloud kingdoms.....

If life, or being, is presence and newness, there's more (which admittedly is also less) to mankind than life or being.

Speech, symbol, memory, art, writing, culture are oriented to the absent and past (or future as well).

    A million-year-old rock is newer than a 5 year-old child.

Agreed! Without the new, life would soon be boring to the point of tears. This is something the WTS is learning, they have no new (made up or otherwise) insights to offer and this will cost them in membership.
