Well, I've probably on posted on this site once or twice although I've visited a few more times that that. Today I met with a few of our friends in Knoxville and they were telling me about how good this board is and how active. I may not post too often since I'm now a full time student (even at my old age) and have tons of homework.

    Brief History:

I'm an X now since Nov 98. I've had excellent encouragement and support when I got out from many of my friends at the Randy's board, (started by Tishie). I was a Witness for 27 years. Started to study in my early teens with my parents, married a JW, raised my children to be JW's. Although both my children are now out. PTL.

I have been divorced and am now remarried to a wonderful WONDERFUL man. He has given me so much insight to the scriptures (and I don't mean the JW way) that I am able to make sound decisions for myself.

I hope that I can be of encouragement and participate from time to time. I did see many pictures of many people on the board but don't ask me who's who because my memory will stop there. LOL

Glad to be here and I hope to get to know more people.

    Best to all

While I think it would have been a hilarious hazing joke, given the content of your post, for no one to post on your thread—it would've also been very mean.

Welcome! Looking forward to reading your posts.

Where in ON are you? I'm originally from Mtl, QC and lived my final year in Canada in Nepean, near Ottawa ON. I left Canada in 2000, and moved to TN. I now have dual citizenship. My children are still in Mtl. So I went up to visit them this past summer. I guess I probably won't be back to Canada until I'm finished my education, which should be in about 4 1/2 years. Law school is at least 3 years, so I'm determined to finish that first.

Thank you all for the welcome. When we talked about this forum today, I had mentioned that I think I was registered just never stuck around along enough. Probably because so much goes on so fast that maybe I was overwhelmed. But even if I can't read everything, which is ok, I can still contribute from time to time.

Also, I really need to thank Junction-Guy, and the others that I met today. I enjoyed our coffee very much so and had a wonderful afternoon. One that I don't think I've had in a long time. I needed that stimulating conversation. THANKS GUYS!! I don't know the screen names of the other two that I met and I would rather just say that I know who you are. I don't know if you use your usual names on the board or not. I know for me, I'd rather not use my original name for reasons of protecting my children for now. Although adults, my eldest is not df'd but has disassociated herself by quietly leaving so therefore, I am protecting her for now. Once it ever becomes official then I won't care. But I do for her sake. I love my children very much and would give them the world.

Oh, I also can take a lot of joking so the hazing would have been funny. LOL But I am honestly glad that I did get a fairly good response. Sometimes you end up feeling like you're alone and I do know I'm not. We've all had dreadful or extreme experiences and all I can say is after 27 years as a jw, I'm so thankful for being out. My brain is now clear and I can honestly think like a real human being. I think the idea of accepting people for who they are is the most precious gift there is.

    Thanks all.
