Good report. More than anything, I think it made the JWs look like a rather irrelevant and backward sect. And it makes the JWs look like they're at least 20 years behind on fixing flawed policy, because JWs are still trying to hide and deny the problem rather than repent, fix, and move forward.
And I thought it was funny that as much as JWs have been preaching "the truth" the graphic for this report featured A CROSS! At first I was thinking, "How could PBS get this wrong?" Then, I was thinking, "For as much as JWs think they're special, they're preaching their message earth-wide, their beliefs about the cross are eclipsed by their reputation for failure to protect children from molestation."

I feel this PBS report was done EXTREMELY well. The arrogance of WT representative Ashe in declaring " we give spiritual protection, not physical protection- that's for the secular authorities to do. " What a pompous a-hole. This report REALLY exposed the WT Society for what they are : a criminal organization hiding and protecting criminals.
Yeah you might not protect the children physically , but your elders sure as hell could have informed the next congregations elders about Kendrick's previous molestation he committed ! The elders in the congregation Kendrick moved from even RECOMMENDED Kendrick as being GOOD with children and " helping them on the straight path " ! Can you freaking believe this ? Even though they knew he molested his own stepdaughter. And he STILL is free attending the Oakley congregation today having access to more potential victims . Disgusting. It's enough to make you want to vomit

In future, how can the organization criticize 'the churches of Christendom' who are now doing more to protect children and minors than the organization itself does? I recall how easily the organization's literature fiercely criticized churches, especially the Catholic Church, for child abuse. I would expect that a content analysis of their current and upcoming literature will show something of a more cautious tone. -
