Fun with Gog and/of Magog!! What's really going on here???

  The topic of Gog and Magog, or Gog of Magog is pretty hot right now. Gog....so hot right now...Gog....  

  As has been brought out by many, no one seems to know who Gog is. The GB 2.0 are now trying to play the role of "balanced" students of the Bible, by saying that we can't give meaning to passages that are unclear, but then they do it anyway. So their latest refinement is the long overdue admission that they never really knew what they were talking about. 

  I started searching "Gog" in the WT CD-Library this morning, why, insomnia... Anyway, I found an interesting quote in the 10/01/53 WT about Gog. It reads:

  6 This seventh world power becomes the “false prophet” of Revelation (16:13; 19:20; 20:10), and when we see frogs hop out to croak and urge the world rulers on to Armageddon, what? It is not out of the mouth of the eighth world power or “image of the wild beast” that a frog hops, but it is out of the mouth of the “false prophet” and out of the mouth of the wild beast from the sea with still only seven heads. (Rev. 16:13-16) So there is visibly nothing on earth for any eighth spirit prince to be represented by in Bible symbolisms. Hence the suggestion of twenty years ago that Gog was an eighth demon prince is now seen to be without proof. However, that suggestion was leading us in the right direction for locating Gog, namely, in the spirit world and not in the visible earthly, human society. Therefore Gog still represents, not a visible human ruler or nation, such as Russia, but a spirit ruler. Whom, then, does Gog symbolize?

    Awesome! So back in the 30's there was a different understanding of Gog! He was a demon prince! So the WTBTS merely suggested that he was a demon prince? I wonder if the "suggestion" was an indisputable fact in the 30's? Whatever the case may be, the WTBTS have clearly never known what they are talking about. Is there any reason to become alarmed at their latest prognostication? I won't be losing any sleep over it. 

  If anyone finds some older information on Gog, it would be interesting to read it. We could make a timeline of the WTBTS's "truth" about Gog.

  Well as we all know, this "new" understanding of (insert whatever topic the GB is currently talking about) is the TRUTH, at least until a NEW TRUTH becomes TRUTH.

  Seriously, they don't know what they are talking about. They did a "rain dance" and got lucky in 1914...sort of. Now they are taking shots at the side of the barn. They will draw targets later, or attempt to. 

  There is no reason to get worried about their speculations. They have ZERO credibility. ZERO.

  DATA-DOG If anyone finds some older information on Gog, it would be interesting to read it. We could make a timeline of the WTBTS's "truth" about Gog.

  Para 4 "A dogmatic statement as to what Gog and the land of Magog represent would hardly be proper."
  "Based upon the certain truths that are revealed by the Scriptures the following conclusion as to the meaning of Gog and Magog is here set forth, to wit: Gog is one of the princes in Satan's organization, invisible, of course, to human eyes, with a possibility of the power to materialize in human form."

  Para 6 "In Revelation 20: 7, 8 the distinction is made between Satan and Gog and Magog, which shows that the particular prophecy of Ezekiel, chapters thirty-eight and thirty-nine, is not directly applicable to Satan, but that it does specifically apply to one of Satan's chiefs, and those gathered under him in a division of Satan's organization."

  So the WT starts by saying "we can't say for sure", but the rest of the article is pretty certain, with Question 12 asking "How do Revelation 11: 12-14 and Ezekiel 38: 15 further confirm the identity of Gog and of the chief instrument in his visible army?'"

  I'm having trouble remembering where in the bible it's ever gog of Magog and not gog and Magog- I always thought they were two separate geological locations not one of the other.
