I will bet anyone any amount of money that this prophecy does not come true. Any takers?

Who gets to define "come true"? I don't want to bet against it, then have some "invisibly present tsunami" wash my money away... Dave

These specific prophecies will not come true:

There's one more hurricane coming to wipe

out another city. Two weeks ago, we has a cermony, Sitting Bull came in

and he talked to me; Crazy Horse , he talked to me; Chief Big Foot talked

to me and they asked me to go to the Seven Council Fires and to the

Council People and to warn all of these Fires, within six months. There's

going to be a tidal wave that's going to wipe out Los Angeles. Within six

months, there 's going to be an eruption in the northwest with the

volcanoes. Two eruptions within six months. They say from the eruptions

of theses volcanoes, the ash is coming, the Missouri River will be

destroyed. They say the water that we drink from the ground is going to

    be no longer drinkable.

Now they may come true in an invisible sense but that's identical to them not coming true. They're the ravings of a demented lunatic, and the only reason they've been circulated is because he's a crazy Native American and not just a crazy white man.

Reading that DB, even the indians arent sure what to make of it. I actually think the email that started that thread may have happened a year or two ago, before the great tsunami.

My own deeper belief is that the Earth is a living planet. The natural "disasters" are simply the earth doing what she does as a living planet. It is happenstance that humans and animals etc. are in the way when She gets cranky. These "disasters" come in cycles. The hurricane destruction seems to come in 19 year cycles, this being the worst in many cycles, but not totally abnormal. "They" finally realized that El Nino in the Pacific comes in 7 year cycles. A 30 year cycle covers the southern california storms that rage and destroy the coastal areas.

Lack of human understanding and respect for the earth and her PMS is what creates the human tragedy. N.O. should not have been built up the way it was. Actually, the whole mississipi valley should not be developed the way it is, because of the flooding. Proof being the part of N.O. that survived with limited damage being the oldest part of the city which is over 300 years old

That humans today have instantaneous worldwide communication is what makes it seem like the earth is getting "worse".

Ice Age cycles run 9000-15000 years apart, with mini cycles within, and massive world flooding happens when the earth warms and the ice melts.

So what I believe in the most is the processes that the earth goes thru (including the swapping of the magnetic poles) as a living planet. Man just gets in the way.

Funky, your definition of that guy being a Crazy Indian is not a new attitude, and is one that promotes predudice. He believes what he believes, and you don't believe what you don't believe. That makes you a Crazy Irishman! Ha!

Quite the opposite. My point was actually that it is only because of people's prejudices that he was given any credence at all. (He's an Indian, therefore he must be in touch with the earth and the spirits of his ancestors.) In reality, he's just another guy making a silly prophecy that's not going to come true, no matter what colour his skin is.

Funky, I understand that side of it too.

We'll see what turns out. This guy is well respected and well connected, and medicine keepers run in families. He may or may not have made that speach.

I think that is what makes this so interesting...the fact that he is an INDIAN and his take on this issue. Brenda added some additional info in saying that they don't go around making these kind of predictions all the time, etc. I, for one, like to learn new things and this is definately new to me.

Insanity often runs in families as well.

He may or may not have made that speach.

Well, if he didn't then he may very well be perfectly sane.

Nah. I gave up betting on prophesies, good odds or not, after 1975.
