    Greetings:

I was lent a WT yesterday and asked where I could get my own copy. I learned that you print your own or get a tablet.

I couldn't determine if the congregation actually receives hardcopies anymore.

    What's a poor brother to do? Ink's expensive and tablets . . .

    THANKS!

I think about half of our hall uses the hard copies still. There's usually a couple spares on the literature counter on sundays as well.

    Thanks, OneEyedJoe.

That's what I figured about the spares, but none were to be found. I guess the shipments now are for a much smaller number.

    Take care.

Printing costs our 'faithful and discreet slave' money that could better be used for productive purposes, like paying off Candace Conti and the rest of the victims.

Oh, and buying lux properties for 'translators'.

It's interesting that my former predictions when first hearing of jw.promotion and the availability of the printed material to download and print, that the trend would be moving towards having the R&F print their own ( and in color mind you for public distrabution) copies. First the KM, then the study versions of the WT, then all of it. Imagine the printing burden being reduced by a whole lot in the countries with the capabilities of the R&F to have this technology. Poor countries will still be serviced by the WT printing presses, but the total volume will be greatly reduced ( and watch for an increase cost to each R&F for a WT produced printed material.)

Keep watching too for "suggested" or "approved" technology devices , software, etc.

It would be easy for the borg to cut guarenteed volume deals with companies in exchange for a % of the cost as a profit to them.

Good thoughts there, nonjwspouse. You were spot on!

    Thank you.

It was bound to happen. WT will spin it as conservation as if they care about the earth and deforestation.

Meanwhile, each congregation can /do receive WT study editions. Compound, it may be that the cong. you attend is full of JWs that have tablets, ipads, printers and don't order many issues. Tell them at the " literature" counter that you would like to receive a hard copy and they will order it. Do you really want one?

BD, hard copies don't change. I can see wanting to keep hard copies. The online versions can change wording ( and they have already done this from others observations) Plus, if I were a JW handing out material I sure wouldn't want the borg forcing me to print my own at my own cost.

    Yes, Nonjwspouse,

If Compound attends meetings and wants a hard copy his cong. should place an order. Simple.

    I wouldn't print out anything.

Cong.'s should have several issues of cult crapola on hand for visitors.
