WT to release tablet computer at next convention?

Do you think this is possible?? They could make a lot of money with this business model. By selling their own dedicated hardware, new E-books Wt literature, selling profitable Internet service through their own "safe" proxy servers that screen out all dangerous material, and the JWs can show catchy pre-loaded WT sales videos to householders at the door or in their studies.

I wonder if they can get a Chinese knockoff tablet computer, like the Hapiad, down to $99 and still make a big profit? It comes with wifi - and is preloaded with the WT Cd , some videos and other WT junk.

How much could they sell WT approved internet for?- going through their WT proxy screening server to keep us out.

Books at conventions- they will have an e-reader version of books for sale immediately- those who want print versions will have to wait- and pay more.

They can bring their WT Haipad to the meetings and read the WT lesson on it, don't even have to print them out.

This could have downsides, too - like when the kids figure out how to jail break them in order to watch what they want.

I could be wrong, but I think they could sellout a limit of 1000 $99 tablet computers in one hour after they are released- they would have to have mob control to keep order at the counter. Caesar's credit cards will be accepted. -

I wouldn't pay 99 pennies for the Washtowel crap, which is likely to be a crap model that is prone to all sorts of failures. Not even after the $100 bill becomes more useful as toilet paper than as currency--it isn't worth anything for this crap.

They are a pretty stodgy looking religion right now and the WT has done nothing to 'Wow', the Bros and sisters in ages. JWs would latch on to these new tablets, with preloaded WT 60 second - infomercial videos, and go out in service with new enthusiasm that the end has to be so close- this is the plan from the slave for the final roundup of the sheep before Armageddon.

Would the Apple store sell a WT .org app, if they developed one?

If their price beat out the others, i might go for it, strip out the wt crap and load it w music or something useful to take on the road. I imagine that they would (should) sell it at so called cost, like they used to do the mags, before it changed.

I would do the same thing myself and save a 100 bucks over a retail version.

This would require thinking outside the box, which is something they aren't used to doing. Those sub $200 tablets are all junky btw. They'd be much better off with a WT app for iOS and Android. That although unlikely is much more probable than their own hardware.

For all their food at the proper time they are wedded to the printed material paradigm. Also if they asked for a voluntary donation they would not make their money back initially. However if they could replace printing with downloads then the savings they make on buildings, trucking and materials would be immense and ay compensate for the lack of generosity.

If they can't even think 'Powerpoint' or 'interactive whiteboard' at KH meetings and conventions, if they dragged their heels on having a website and downloadable lit., what's the likelihood of them thinking even further afield in technology?
