I know the anointed never get consulted. But is it true that the Governing Body has modified the definition of the Faithful and Discreet Slave to exclusively apply to themselves and to not include the thousands of other anointed.

I actually read that on the JW recovery website. I think its in a new watchtower.

I always wondered why they mentioned the faithful and discreet slave when they dont consult the other faithful and discreet slave members. I

guess its just to justify what they do.

No. They say one thing, but reality is another. On paper, the F&DS is the entire remnant of anointed on Earth.

The people responsible for the content of the magazines, books, letters and talk outlines are the F&DS. <------ Many of these are not even anointed ones.

The whole thing is a sham.

Plus, the entire concept of the F&DS implies that magic is involved. How does information get from Jehovah to the printing press? Magic.

They haven't officially said "The Governing Body is the Faithful and Discreet Slave," But they have said "The Faithful and Discreet Slave, represented by the Governing Body........" This can be taken one of two ways. First, the GB could just "represent" the F&DS much the same way an elected congressman or parlaimentarian represents their constituents. Secondly, they could be easing into a change that the F&DS of the Bible is the modern day Governing Body. They have yet to clarify what they mean by this. Are they saying they represent the individual members of the F&DS, or are they saying they are the modern day F&DS that Jesus mentioned. I guess we have to wait on their clarification.

I'll get a reference from the WT with the exact quote, unless someone else has it and can post it first.....

    Thanks

    LEAVING WT:

Yes, magic must surely be involved. I would certainly love to shake the hand of the lucky brother(s) that Jehovah supposedly communicates with. People this special should be carried around on a float down the main street like the pope. Not to mention, that an event like this would be in the newspapers.

That's how I see it. How do they get the info? They say that the info is not wisdom from men, but wisdom from Jehovah.

So, how does he get it to them? Does he send them an email? Does he call them on a phone? Does he appear in the weekly GB meeting? Do thoughts from Jehovah pop into their heads?

To an outsider, the reality couldn't be any clearer. It's just a dude or some dudes making ______ up and publishing it, the same as every other publisher in the world.

I've always wondered how this 'meat in due season' gets to 'faithful and discreet' slave. Could it be something evil talking to them, an evil spirit perhaps? Maybe its them SAYING that they have God's holy spirit, when it fact, they have nothing.

Yes and the GB are also the executive directors of the Watchtower Publishing Corporation.

So the GB self identify themselves in many ways.

All assuming to self empowerment of course.

One thing thats been stirring in my mind is could these guys change the name of the organization

to something else in the near future, in an attempt to distance themselves from the WTS and its teachings ?

Could the Executive directors of this corporation who are the GB vote on this and retain all the assets of the WTS.

reforming in name to something else.

2014 is coming up pretty soon, if you catch my drift.

Here is some of the most recent claptrap on the GB:

    July 15, 2010 WT, page 23, paragraph 10:

    September 15, 2010 WT, page 23, paragraph 8:

When the time comes to clarify a spiritual matter in our day, holy spirit helps responsible representatives of “the faithful and discreet slave” at world headquarters to discern deep truths that were not previously understood. (Matt. 24:45; 1 Cor. 2:13) The Governing Body as a whole considers adjusted explanations. (Acts 15:6) What they learn, they publish for the benefit of all. (Matt. 10:27) As time goes on, further clarifications may be needed, and these too are honestly explained.

    28-30.

Christ provides loving oversight of his congregations on earth by means of appointed elders. (Eph. 4:8, 11, 12) In the first century, all the overseers were spirit-begotten. They were depicted in Revelation as stars in Christ’s right hand. (Rev. 1:16, 20) Today, most congregation elders are of the other sheep. They are appointed after prayer and under the guidance of the holy spirit, so they too can be regarded as under Christ’s direction, or guiding hand. (Acts 20:28) They recognize, however, that Christ is using a small group of anointed Christian men as a Governing Body to lead and direct his disciples on earth.—ReadActs15:6,

Listening certainly includes taking to heart what is said in God’s Word and the spiritual food that he provides. (Matt. 24:45) It also means obeying God and his Son. Jesus said: “Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doingthewillofmyFather who is in the heavens will.” (Matt. 7:21) And listening to God means willingly submitting oneself to the arrangement he has set in place, the Christian congregation with appointed elders, “gifts in men.”—Eph. 4:8. Among those “gifts in men” are the members of the Governing Body, who act in a representative way for the entire Christian congregation. (Acts 15:2, 6) In fact, our attitude toward Christ’s spiritual brothers is a major factor that will determine how we will be judged during the coming great tribulation. (Matt. 25:34-40) Thus, one aspect of the way we gain a blessing is by giving our loyal support to God’s anointed ones.
