"Count your many blessings, name them one by one." (words of the song)

I'm interested in hearing from believers. I find your stories to be uplifting and fascinating.

Please share with us, briefly, some of the positive things that God has done for you.

How would I know that a god had done something to me?

I will count my "blessings" (unfortunately, "Sarcastic Orange" does not work for me on this forum):

    Celibacy with no prospects.

Wasted years of my life serving Jehovah for nothing.

An assignment where I will supposedly be working around nothing but men, with nothing but men, on nothing but men.

    The Second Dark Ages.

Were God to not exist at all in any form, I could have solved my own problems without Him putting me into a situation where everyone tries to control me, or trying to extort and force me to "Witless to Men" (as in the August 2009 Kingdumb Misery, which the hounders are all but sure to distribute this evening at the Kingdumb Hell).

Perhaps I didn't make myself clear.

I'm not interested in comments from non-believers.

I'm not interested in debate or arguments about God.

    Please stay on topic.

Why don't you start. That is what the song is about. "Count YOUR many blessings".

    Hi LWT,

He died for me an awful death He didn't deserve.

He gave me life where I had none.

He gave me hope where I had none.

He gave me peace where I had none.

He gave me purpose where I had none.

He gave me joy when I had none.

He showed me how to love.

He showed me how to forgive.

He showed me how to be generous.

He showed me how to serve, not how to exalt myself to be served.

He showed me grace, how to give favor to those who don't deserve it.

He taught me how to be patient when I was impatient.

He taught me how to trust and be trustworthy.

He brought me a soulmate and many other blessings, even when I didn't care about God.

He put me in situations I would need in the future, even when I wasn't listening to Him.

He adopted me, now I am royalty and a son and brother of the King of Kings!

He wants the best for me, and knows what is best for me.

He encourages me, lifts me up, doesn't crush me or burden me.

Of course, I am not saying I have mastered all these things, I am work in progress. However, I truly have made some serious progress in the last three or four years since I have been listening to Him.

LWT, these are for you, I hope you don't mind.

    Mark 12:34 (New International Version)

34 When Jesus saw that he had answered wisely, he said to him, "You are not far from the kingdom of God."

    Revelation 22:17 (New International Version)

17 The Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" And let him who hears say, "Come!" Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life.

    All the best,

    Stephen

He created this marvelous universe of which I am but a speck, yet He cares about me.

He paid the full penalty for my debts.

He delivered me from servitude to a manmade organization.

He eased the pain of losing my mother when I'd been given to think that she just might live forever.

His Holy Spirit guides and directs my steps since I've yielded to Him.

He has given me hope, faith, and patience until the Day when His pierced Feet touch down upon the Mount of Olives.

Thank you, LWT, for this uplifting thread!
