Just a few random updates before I head off to work.
My wife is now about halfway through CoC and is amazed at what she is reading. One thing she mentioned in the book was the ridiculousness of the Society legislating the sex stuff.
I can't wait until she gets to the stuff on blood, and Mexico/Malawi, in CoC. That stuff made me so mad when I read it I wanted to break stuff.
She was talking with her "faded" friend from out of state last night and was learning about alot of sexual abuse cover-ups in that area - of people she knew! Before that she only really had my word about it. I also told her about the Silent Lambs website.
Yesterday we talked about how we need to still make a showing at the meetings and out in service. She suggested we go and meet for service on Saturday and just say we have some calls to work on ourselves and then just go home. Actually, we are going to take the kids to a children's event taking place at the library on Saturday morning - but I thought it was funny she brought it up.
I told her about my plan to have my publisher record cards mailed to me instead of being mailed to my new congregation when we move. She liked that idea.
My excitement has now shifted from the possibility of her being out to acceptance of the idea she is out. Pretty weird man ... I had no idea she would come this far this fast.
I realize the scariest thing for the Society is smart, sincere, people. Isn't that sad?
I hope to introduce her to JWD soon.
