Stealing KH library books to sell on eBay?

I wonder how many current JW's who know about eBay are "borrowing" old books and magazines from their congregation library to sell there.

This thought recently came to mind since I am selling a few publications I have left. I got $169.50 for one old book and currently have one listed that may go over $200.00.

Sure wish I knew about eBay 6 months ago before I carted boxes of old books and mags to Goodwill. Everything I gave away is selling for a decent $. I just wonder who some of the buyers are and why they want this stuff. I can understand why the very old pubs are collected (such as I am selling). But why would people actually pay for the pubs that have came out in the past 20 years?

I don't understand why ANYONE would want any of these old books/publications - the only value they have is for academic research.

Although they're fetching decent money, I can't imagine anyone stealing them from the Kingdom Hall (having said that, I bet a few of you will own up to doing so! lol) - I always imagine those places very well guarded.

I wonder how long it will be before the WTBTS realise there's a good profit to be made on ebay?

Good Luck on your Enterprise though, Happy Dad

I just bought a My Book of Bible Stories on ebay for 5 bucks shipping included. I guess I just need to look at the first book I ever read and figure out why I blanked it out of my mind until just recently.

maybe some of the elders are buying these older pubs to put back into their KH librarys, because theirs "disappeared"---haha

It's a wonder they aren't 'tagged' ( a chip in the spine) like books in a REAL library.

We need to access a KH where we're not known, Brummie(? from SOMERSET?) - you can be Brother Smith, and I'll be Sister Smith - fiendish plan.....

Stole a Interlinear from the KH library (well they are free) to give to somebody on this board but not to sell

Which raises the question, why would you steal a book that is still in print, when all you have to do is walk over to the literature counter and request one?
