Everyone jumps at CO visits

I have found when it is time for the CO to visit, everyone is out witnessing, the elders walk around like humble loving little servants, the sisters are dressed like the Amish and the brothers have time of work to put on their best witnessing hours. (not all are like that, and some really in the know b/s mainly sisters laugh at the show) Who are they? they change their personalities so often to suit.

The hypocricy is undeniable, I have also noticed love show before the CO visits, the elders seem to be more mellow or enquiring of you, like how are you, hope you are well, before that you could be out of the scene for weeks sick and they look at you suspiciously.

I have seen it go on for years. People get the CO spark and then go limp after he's gone.

I got to laugh because I sure did noticed that C.O. jump! it like one big happy pill or something. I forgot what was so important about the guy myself! His talks are boring and old news. The WTBTS should give tickets to the poor to travel around just to visit. That would be really nice!

Wow, i really agree with this thread.

This was something I noticed for years and years when I was 'in d troof'.

Leading up to the visit lots of brothers had their haircut - I used to call it th 'CO Cut' - should have copywrited that term!

During the visit, elders would greet as we entered the hall, my ex sister in law who hardly ever went to the meetings would turn up for all of them that week and put her hand up for virtually every paragraph in the watchtower and give the most sickly sweet answers!

Turn out for the field service on the weekend was very high - it was noticeable if you weren't there, but of course the super spiritual ones (for one week anyway) would keep dropping into any conversation how they had a wonderful time in the mid week ministry.

So glad I'm away from all that pretense now!

When I became inactive and my meeting attendance started slipping, the only shepherding calls I ever got from the elders were right before the CO was scheduled to visit. Go figure.

Actually, I always thought that people put on their holy face and waited until he left so things could go back to business as usual. The only time the elders addressed me by name and shook my hand was at the memorial and CO visits. It was the only time that some went out with their group in field service without delegating that to the MS or darting off on their own after the prayer at the MFFS (meeting for field service).

It was the only time most elders were early to the meetings or on time or had their parts prepared.

Two-faced, glad-handing, sucking up, brown nosing,

That's right, and suddenly the Hall would be soooo filled that you couldn't get a seat sometimes. Everyone would be so "giddy" with a fake dumb smile on their faces, it was so sickening. The hypocrisy just made me want to puke! Of course there was also the "thrilling" local needs part ..... do more, do more, do more ......
