My experience as a MS

I have been a Ministerial servant for 15 years. After 1994-95 "generation change" and 1999 "being hit by hurricane and no WT/brothers help"

I had serious doubts. In this time though I've been asked to be elder twice.

My question is.... If the holy spirit directs the nominations of Ms and Elders... What reasons

would the holy spirit have in nominating me, since I am "apostate in heart"?

I have declines twice, and had to come up with family bulls---t as an excuse.

Thus, I have the privilege of hearing some things from the inside, and help others who doubt this bad religion

    Cheech my thinking exactly:

That is exactly the reasoning that took me out of the WTS. The complete BS I experienced with the local Elders led me to believe Holy Spirit had nothing to do with picking them, in fact I doubted that the WTS was backed by God at all! Now I'm sure, I just wish it wouldn't have taken me so long to figure it out.

I think it would be funny if you asked them how you could possibly be considered as a candidate for Elder being that you are an apostate at heart, of course do it right before you plan to leave for good.

DaCheech: I admire your courage in sticking it out at the meetings! I'm always morbidly curious to find out what's going on "on the inside".

    Thanks!

You know if he actually did that, they would consider it "Jehovah's Holy Spirit using the situation to bring his apostate heart to the surface." They can turn any situation to their liking. Bastards.

I know of 2 men who were guilty of child molestation, but it was never dealt with. They both later became elders. To me, that was evidence that appointments could not possibly have anything to do with 'holy spirit'.

Walter, your point is a good one. I have had elders say that the brother was okay when originally appointed by holy spirit and later deviated such as Judas and and King Saul. In your cases, they were unfit from the beginning.

    It's all politics.

Gosh, Cheech, you must be doing something "right" or you wouldn't have been invited into their inner circle.

Have you asked why you were invited? Might be a good, non-threatening question if invited again.

Glad you're there, and glad you're here! Thank You!

If i believed in god (which i don't) I'd say it's his spirit guiding them to make you an elder so you could bring down this cult that is ruining gods good name... luckily i don't believe in this stuff!

I say you take detailed notes and report back to us weekly Or you could write a book about it, could be a great read.

The turning point in my leaving the dubs was hearing a DO make a statement during the "public" talk at an assembly. Looking back it's hard to believe he made it during that talk. He made a statement concerning the appointment of servants. He said, do you think that when the recommendation for a servant from the local congregation is received at headquarters, that holy spirit is going to reject it, even though there may have been some mistakes made my the local elders and CO? Even though I always kind of felt that was the case, it was shocking to hear it admitted from the platform.

I knew right then it was all over for me.
