OMFG!!!!!!!!!!!! I FOUND HER AFTER 10yrs!!!!

I posted a thread about sending a letter to my jw best friend yesterday I think.

While doing that, I thought about a friend of mine who I went to school with, and we were already friends, but she saw me give my English teacher the "school brochure". After I left the portiable, she asked me if I was a JW. I was amazed as to why she asked me all of a sudden. I asked her why she would ask me that, then she said, "I saw you give the teacher a "school brochure". Just the terminology made me think "NO WAY SHE CAN'T BE!!" So, I said yes I am a JW (I was about 14 at this point), and she replied "So am I!"

We both just fell all over ourselves at this revelation!!! This meant we could actually hang out together outside of school!!

OK fastforeward about a yr and a half later..............................I got myself df'd and she was one of the ones that helped me when I ran away from home because of my father's brutal beating of me.

She was one of the ONLY ones that was by my side.

I can't remember why we stopped talking so many yrs ago, but what inspired me to find her again was because of my JW best friend and the letter I just posted.

This girl was my best friend too, but we hadn't known each other the way Jen and I knew each other, but (we will call her Amy) Amy and I were just as close.

Amy's mother is a midwife, and so I used a search engine to try and find where her mom might be online.

To my surprise, I thought I found Amy's mother. So, I emailed the link posted last night.

When I got home from work, I had an email FROM AMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She is now married with 2 kids, and would like to talk to me again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wasn't sure her mom was still a dub, and wasn't sure even if it was Amy's mom, that Amy would get the email, but she did, and Amy sent me an email with her pic (she is still beautiful) and pics of her kids!!!!!!!!!!

I AM SOOOOOOOOOOO HAPPY I took the chance to get in contact with Amy again!!!!

I will let you all know what comes of it, we have traded ph#'s and I CAN'T WAIT TO TALK TO HER AGAIN!!

10yrs is WAY TO LONG!!!!!!!!!!!! for anyone out there contimplating on contacting someone they think about, and it has been a LONG time...........DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You know, nothing ventured is nothing gained.

Lately, I have been doing similarly. I have done searches on-line for people I had once known that were JWs way back when I was one too.

Look at what happened with you, and it was a positive experience.

If any of you reading this, are contemplating contacting someone from days gone by. Do it!

You've got nothing to lose, and so much more to gain.

Who knows, maybe you too will end up being reunited with a very happy ending, resulting in a new beginning.

You NEVER KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!! The worst thing is they won't want to talk to you, if so........at least YOU KNOW instead of wondering "what if".

I am so happy for you. It just go's to show what a little persistence will give you. That is so cool, I couldn't be more happier.You have fun with your old/new friend and enjoy the time you get to catch up...who knows maybe their are some other friends she knows about that you used to know as well.

I'm so happy for you! I have tried this with a friend of mine, the only one who was nice to me throughout the years. She didn't reply to the letter. I've just recently sent a letter to what I think is her daughter's address, waiting to see if I was right and get a reply.
