... if not the theocracy, of the following poem (used to great effect in the movie Coach Carter, and by Nelson Mandela at his inaugeration):

that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our

    darkness, that most frightens us
. We ask ourselves, who am I to be

brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you not

to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the

    world
. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within

us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our

own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do

the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence

    automatically liberates others."

I figured since everyone was shunning ya, I'd stop in and say hi. Hi there.

    Our deepest fear is

that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our

    darkness, that most frightens us
    .

Me thinks BOTH our light and our darkness is what frightens us. Men are in the dark about many things.....which brings forth fear. I guess you could be in the light about being in the dark.

Very powerful statement! Remember when we were JWs and occasionally a litttle light would come into our dark world and scare us? I.e. Noticing how they had changed scripture, finding out about their lies. Then we would overpower it with our darkness and carry on as normal.

The whole thing is powerful. Thanks for sharing it, Six.

I agree. Sometimes that light is hard to bear, and maybe we also fear what others may make of it. Sometimes we forget that it takes light of various colours, to make a rainbow, and perhaps speak too soon of our own colour of light being the right one. It's but a shade of that which makes the light-symphony of life, blurring into white...

I guess if you were confined for over two decades, you'd come up with such a quote.

Yes, why are we afraid to ask directions, why are we afraid to say thank you, why are we afraid to express and show compassion, why are we afraid to to help and assist others, are we afraid of ourselves? Hmmmmm, how much light do we give off?

Beautiful Six. IMO you've touched the very essence of (non-religious) faith here.

Just waiting until funkyderek sees that one.

I think I have finally reached this point:

I guess you could be in the light about being in the dark.

I think this is my final reality; We don't know shit about life and the universe. Live with it, or in it, or around it, or without it, whatever IT is.
