I just go Ray Franz's book Crisis of Concience.

    It's here: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0914675044/o/qid=989934775/sr=2-1/107-8614628-6553349

I read 6 chapters last night and couldn't put it down!! I can't believe that I waited so long to take a look at this unbelievable work. I HIGHLY recommend everyone that hasn't read it or has put it off (like me) to take a look.

Even a long time ex-er like me was surprised how Ray was "disfellowshipped". He resigned from the GB and THEN was DF'd by the local congregation that he ended up in on basically a trumped up charge with full knowledge of the Service Committee, people that he had worked with and directed for 9 years before as a GB member.

I can't get over the book. Please read!!

My name is Slipnslideius Masterus: commander of the armies of the North, general of the Felix legions, loyal servant to the true emperor, Marcus Aurelius...

On of the posters (I forget who) was at the Bethel breakfast table with Bert Schroeder after Ray was DFd and Bert told him they had already decided to somehow get Ray DFd before or at the time he left Bethel. This, despite the fact that the tried to DF him in a JC at Bethel, but didn't have the evidence to do it.

Dubs, are you listening? Guys like Schroeder are the ones who are going to be "ruling" over you folks from heaven.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

    Slipnslidemaster,

Imagine getting both Ray’s books and trying to read them while still inside, and thought of as a pillar in the congregation. Having come to Bethel shortly after Ray and his wife arrived I left about four years before the witch hunt started. I would not have survived. I covered over my doubts by blindly pressing on and accepting more responsibility. I now face the quandary, how do I back off without getting caught and massacred? Fortunately my family is ready without even reading the books. (they are tired of me fighting the hierarchy)

ANY JW’S READING THIS? Brothers, I’m still here with you, inside. If you are like me you are tired of never being good enough, of being just a little out of step with the Lemming mind set, kissing the feet of Circuit Overseers, making your kids march to someone else’s song and dance, or moving magazines and feeling guilty about not asking for a donation. But if your like me, still obediently, you wondered what was all that stuff about Ray Franz?
DON’T LET ANYONE TELL YOU WHAT TO THINK OR WHAT FACTS YOU CAN CONSIDER. Even Satan was give an opportunity to make his case against God. What is the WTBTS so afraid of that they wont let you read the account of one of their former leaders? Get the books.

    Hi Slip,
That's the same reaction I had when I started to rea CoC.
As Drue said, In Search of Christian Freedom is also a good read.

Just got ISOCF yesterday, along with the FreeMinds CD from Randy Watters. The CD is excellent, and I started reading this 700+ page behemoth last night.

I told my husband that I'm finally over the "Armageddon Syndrome" and boy, does it feel good!

    Cheers,

Recommend you guys also read Ray's second book "In Search of Christian Freedom" a much larger tome but well worth it. The two books fit nicely together. You must read them both.

TO ANY JWs LURKING HERE: You cannot possible read Ray Franz's books and remain the same. They change you. How? By opening the reader's eyes to the real 'truth' of the organisation and its doctrines.
Happy Reading everybody! Once you start, you can't put them down, eh?

    Cheers,

    ozzie
