Are you ready to barf? Read this!

    *** w53 9/1 526 Appreciating The Watchtower ***

How do you feel about The Watchtower? Like the reader who wrote as follows? "The Watchtower is the most delicious morsel we’ve ever tasted. Each one gets tastier (if possible). No humdrum about our menu! It’s so good we can hardly digest one until we look forward to another. Have you ever gone into an exclusive candy kitchen and wondered how to choose what you want when you saw so many, many lovely kinds? I feel that way spiritually about The Watchtower. There is so much to study that I hardly know where to begin. Then when I begin, I can’t quit until I have to go and tell someone else about it, or discuss it with them. And so it goes. Never a dull moment!"

I gotta go lie down now....

    Greven,

You made that up, right? Even the Watchtower can't come out with such self-serving bulls**t!

What they forgot to mention was that experience came from a drunk under a bridge who had previously been eating dead mice. He found a watchtower and ate it with his buddy.

NOW I get it...you're supposed to EAT Watchtowers! So THAT'S why Jehovah hasn't destroyed the Society, he didn't realise that the poor dubbies were going to READ all that crap!

I noticed that quote is from a 1953 Watchtower. All I can say, how depressing...makes you want to give up chocolate - lol.

It's interesting that they put that quote in their comparing the Watchtower articles to items in a candy shop.

Because the Watchtower is spiritual junk food. No real meat is in there.

They said they've hardly digested one when they can't wait to get to the next one..... That's because reading the Watchtower does not fill you up spiritually. It's so unsatisfying and empty.

But they've got their followers hooked on these journals that are just like empty-calorie foods. It's a good scam they've got going there, serving the same old junk over and over and over and having their people claiming to LOVE it.

I always had a hard time believing some of the stories the WTS came out with as far as people saying how great they and their magazines are.

I think it has always been just plain propaganda.

Or to put it more bluntly, it's just plain B.S.

Oh, man, that reminds me of the experience one brother gave from the platform (CO visit? Convention? Assembly? Don't remember). He told about an elderly JW couple who told him they were so appreciative of the information found in the Watchtower that, every time they got one in the mail (this was the late 80's), they would kneel together in the kitchen and pray to Jehovah in gratitude to be worthy of this priceless information before they even took it out of the brown wrapper.

Even as a JW I thought that was a bit much!!
