Where does responsibility lie?

    Hi all,

I have a new line of thought that I am applying to myself. I emphasize that, because it may or may not be relevant to others.

I am making a strong attempt to stop blaming the WTS for the things I missed out on. I am finding it much more empowering to say, "I decided not to go to college. I decided to pioneer during my youth. I, indeed, have made all of the decisions that have affected my life, either good or bad. This line of thought gives me a sense of freedom.

I recognize that many of the choices I have made in my life have been out of fear. I believe that one reason I chose to remain a witness was because of my fear of life and its consequences. It was easier for me to just expect god to come along and make everything nice nice.

I present this concept as a hypothesis and not as a fact. I am interested in hearing others thoughts.

    hugs to all

    Joel

hi joel, nice to see you here again:) it's true what you are saying. the WT definitely influenced the choices we made, but, for myself you are right, i did make those decisions. i don't really think this refutes the feelings in the thread about "where would we be if not for the WT" i think it's just a more positive way to look at the past. thanks for the different approach, it might not change the past, but maybe it will make the past easier to deal with.-:)nate

    Joelbear,

Many of us have been there. You know apportioning blame is an old Israelite thing.
Life happens, and I'm being polite, all that counts is the present.
Look at what you still have left and play it for all your
worth. Every lost battle is a lesson learned.
No one gets it all right the first time around.
Warriors never yield they just go on getting better.
