Does anyone know how many Circuit and District overseers have either left completely or been disfellowshipped? Any ideas too on perhaps bethelites, or missionaries?

I agree with ISP. Info will be hard to obtain.

    Reliable info, even harder.

Where's one of our inhouse statisticians or mathematicians?

JR Brown said in the 8-22-02 article in the St. Petersburg Times that 50,000-60,000 are DF'd every year. So if someone wants to play with averages and statistics, maybe they could come up with a "good guess."

BTW, JR said 30,000-40,000 go BACK IN within one year. I don't believe that part of his story!

If you are DF'd and your a congregation member your name is announced to the congregation.

What happens when a CO, or DO gets the DF'd where is his name announced?

Many years ago, they used to include disfellowhipping statistics in the year end report. One of our friends went through the old yearbooks, calculating, and in 1995, if all that had been df'd had come back, there would have been about 15 million dubs. That's allowing for 100% coming back, and it was 1995 too. Now, 7 years later, they are hovering at 6 million, so I doubt very much that the amount JR Brown mentioned is anywhere near correct.

It was our experience that if 10 were df'd, about 1 or 2 would come back. Depends on who they were, of course.

As to the original question, I know of several CO's that have left and one DO. That's just personal knowledge.

    : How many CO'S & DO'S have left?

If there are actually any humble and truly caring COs and DOs left, then the answer would have to be:

    "Not enough of them."
