Current elder explains the college situation to me

While he says he has not seen a letter ,he tells me that at the last visit the CO told his body of elders pretty much what is being said here on JWD.

    He gave some examples:

1- If a young MS/pioneer, attends college and lives at home, would he and his elder Dad be deleted? No! Why? The young man is "spiritually focused".

2- An elder's daughter attends college in the hopes of having a good job in the future and Dad promotes this course of action. This elder will be deleted.

All in all, this sounds dangerously subjective to me. I think we will see some people "get away with murder" while in other congregations many heads will roll. They will be at the mercy of the whims of their individual BOE's and CO's. So what else is new?

Obviously these are the made-up rules of a phony baloney religion at work!

That is exactly right!!! I think they have opened a can of worms with this one. They will be "clarrifying" for many moons to come.

By the way, he says he has not heard anything about getting rid of CO's.

CHANGELING- Yes, I agree with your assessment of things. It's like I wrote in one of my recent threads about the "Elders in each congregation being a country unto themselves " ! That is EXACTLY what will happen ! If it's an elder with a daughter who is going to college - if he supports her that way he will get the axe as an elder , because the daughter can't be used anyway in the congregation. But if you have a son going to college- it's alright if he's pioneering or an MS because he's contributing to the organization's cause ! What a crock of eltist $hit ! So typical ! Sigh

This one is just plain over the top. If this is for real, there will be serious repercussions in the borg. They would much better off just banning college outright, rather than create such a subjective, (and might I add pharasaical sounding), approach to controlling who can or can't decide to go to college.

I was skeptical for a while of whether or not the borg was in its death throws, but this seems to make it that much more clear to me.

The Headquarters at Bethel is such a hypocrite on this. It almost demands that its youth don't go to college, so the organization can have a lot of free labor from their youth to do the 'grunt' work. However, clearly they call in college degreed people to do their special works, attorneys, doctors, nurses, dentists, computer technicians, CPAs, etc. and those people clearly are an upper class there. No question about it!

Which scriptures did he use to support this position?

    Idiots.

While he says he has not seen a letter, he tells me that...

Not seeing the actual instructions, of course, does not prevent him from forming an opinion. And that says so much about this organization.

Keep the women stupid, already got them "silent in the congregation"
