Fade to Black

Salutations everyone. I am rather new to this site. (finding it as I did, like a man stumbling upon some late night coven in the woods) Anyway, I am a MS and member of the Hitler Youth (whoops, there I go again, I meant to say "Pioneer") who has just decided to begin the great fade. To my very great displeasure, though, I was recently recruited to become the accounts servant, (a job I had refused in the past) needless to say, this job is driving me crazy, I have no desire whatsoever to be the bean-counter of blood- money, and so, as my first covert act, I am going to quietly turn the books back over to Elder "Gay Hitler" (he really looks and sounds like a gay Hitler) on some pretense. This shall serve as the beginning of my own private war. the end result of which will result in my being declared "missing in Watchtower action." Any advice/words of experience in this regard? Cheers.

Have fun fading.... There are so many things that I wish I could go back and do just to irritate everyone.

I have no idea of your age or your family circumstances, but the easiest way to do any of that is to, for one reason or another, decide to change congregations. It is quite simple, in fact, especially if your hall is shared by two or more congregations. You normally get lost in the shuffle.

I am a fader, myself, but I prefer to view it as a "Fade to White". It's a much cheerier way to look at it.

    Good luck to you!

One thing you could do is post anything you see that amounts to hanky panky with the accounts. For instance, if they send a large amount to the Worldwide Pedophile Defense Fund and then cry about having a shortage of funds, you now have the ability to post the figures. You also have the ability to keep us posted about the number of "rubbish money" items you find (that is, Zero Dollar Bills, Void Checks, and the like).

Down the road, I suggest having "difficulty" in getting out in field circus. Once that happens, they are likely to look at some of those "privileges". And, I guarantee you, once you start missing enough boasting sessions, you are going to be removed from the position you do not want. Another thing you could do is start doing some of the things you can lose "privileges" for, such as taking college courses and spending excessive time in recreation in lieu of going to boasting sessions. The goal is ultimately to quit going to boasting sessions while wasting as much of their resources trying to find out what's going on as possible, and at the same time using the "privilege" to help expose the money flow.

Ultimately, you could try moving in the border between your congregation and an adjacent one. Start alternating attendance, but do not transfer your paperwork. Once you have that pattern down, you start missing them altogether. Each one will think it's the other's job to hound you. You will lose your "privileges". You will probably be deleted as an assistant hounder. Gradually, you cut back on field circus as well. In time, you aim to become totally inactive.

    Welcome to the board.

I had the displeasure of being the accounts servant for 5 years, a right hassle to say the least. One thing I always liked was how the org were always updating procedures so we could send the money faster to them. I used to let my wife help me by counting all the cash (she was better at it than me).

I happened to mention this to an elders wife, 24 hours later I am being slapped by the service committee for allowing sisters to do work that is for brothers only!!

Fading, well thats a big subject. All I will say at this point is that to be able to fade quietly you will need to deal with the MS bit first. Step down for whatever reason and then start the back off from the org.

The alternative is to fade while still an appointed man - risky. If the local coven of elders think you are an evil demon possessed apostate they could push you out the door.
