Latino Dancing!

I've started going to dance classes four weeks ago but had to skip two
Tonight I went again. I thought it will be a pain in butt to get back into routine, in fact didn't even feel like going, was feeling kinda low on fuel for few reasons but went anyway.

I've got really great couple of dance instructors. Lady instructor helped me every step of the way to get right back into it, step by step. So after half an hour I was really feeling confident to dance again.

You know I'm really enchanted by Salsa dancing. I've danced other styles before but never tried any Latino style. I mean the feeling of passion and some fire in your belly is really hypnotic.
If I didn't try it myself I wouldn't believe it. But the thing that impressed me the most is how two human bodies that only few minute ago were laughing and having a drink, on dance floor can completely transform and move so flawlessly like one unit in perfect harmony. The fusion of emotions, physical movements and pure pleasure is something I've never experienced before while dancing.

In fact, I can freely admit here that Salsa is the only thing I ever experience that came so close to feeling of literally leading your lover step by step through heights of erotic pleasure while making love, without actually doing it. Every move of a gentleman is followed by enchanting move of a lady as it two were made out of the same material.
You're so completely surrendered to it and absourbed into perfection of performance, that I really can't find a better comparison.

I really wished someone introduced me to this before. I mean, I'm writing this and I'm still feeling vibrations going through my body.

What are you experiences? I'm sure many of you must have tried this before. Gawd, we spend so much time here talking about freaking WTBS it would be good to start introducing things like this for a change that would help people see a better side of life, beyond wtbs crap.

You got me all hot under the um..... collar. Sounds awesome. Always wanted to take up a class. Waiting for the kids to get a bit older so that I can leave them home alone while I do a bit of Dity Dancing.

I had 10 good years of hitting the dance clubs after I left the KH- many, many dance lessons. A woman can get by with a few lessons, but not a man. I decided that it took more work to become a good dancer , than to get my pilot's license. My favorites, were disco, night club two step, swing and rumba.

I took a few swing dancing lessons when I was a dub. It was THE thing for all the younglings for about 2 years. We went to *gasp* clubs downtown to hone our arts.

It was alot of fun. I would love to take some sort of dance classes again. It's one thing I've always loved to do!

I haven't done it since I was a teenager, but I hope to again. It's fun to say the least.

Ah Salsa and Merengue. I'm much better with merengue than salsa mind you! Are you still around my parts Zagor? I wonder if we had lessons from the same school? I took them too.

My hubby is latin and at our wedding a few weeks ago we had a latin dj. The music was awesome. All the aussies got up and danced. We even did some salsa steps as part of our bridal dance.

Zagor, I use to teach dancing. The latin dances were the most fun. This was before the big craze and many years ago (1970's)

I taught the Cha Cha, and Samba among others, and the be all end all, Tango.

I no longer remember how to do any of them at an expert level except the Cha Cha, my favorite. My parents told me I was to wait for the new order to continue what I was doing and Jehovah was dissapointed I was so involved. I had to quit as I was still under their rule.

Some of my dance partners went on to professional competitions. I even saw one of my dance partners on TV just recently. It made me sad because he was not considered very competent when he was one of my partners.

I was expected to go on an compete.

Anywawy, enjoy the dance.....there is nothing like it.

Salsa is too much like work and I don't care for the music either; a little too Caribbean for me. It's the style of Puerto Rico and Cuba and other Afro-Latin cultures.

Merengue is pretty cool, and works with most of the Tropical music played in discos in Mexico.

Cumbia remains king for me. Not the "Tex-Mex" style of dance around in a circle polkaing you probably get in AZ, but the indigenous style which is much smoother and rythmic with lots of merengue undertones.

So latino dancing depends on which Latino you are talking about I guess.
