Well, it's not big news, but there will be a new Revelation Book coming out. It is already published and sitting in the Wallkill warehouses. Makes me think why they are giving out dozens of corrections first, and shipping the new book later? Maybe just some really bad planning on their part....

You're kidding. Wow. Let me guess. Paperback - new cover artwork.

I assume this is from a reliable source?

If so, that is very bizarre. Why draw attention to the shifting sands of doctrine, 70 changes in 18 years since the "old" Revelation was produced, then turn around and print up a new one?

If they had skipped the "70 corrections" KM insert altogether, and just pushed the "new" Revelation book, only "apostates fighters against God himself" would have taken the time to point out the discrepancies between "old" and "new". The average R&F JW wouldn't have given it a second thought.

Now, with a correction coming out within months of printing off a list of "70 corrections", it just doubly draws attention to the changes in doctrine.

Are the wheels beginning to fall off the chariot?

It wouldn't surprise me if they printed a new paperback edition with all the old mistakes in still in it. Perhaps it's cheaper to print paperbacks, but too expensive to fix all the mistakes...

So are you sure the new paperback has all the corrections in it?

Actually, I just assumed the corrections were in there, but they might not be.

    daniel-p is a reliable source... ;)

Well if they actually have the audacity to print paperbacks to save money, but fail to include the corrections again to save money, then doesn't that show utter contempt for Witnesses who give their hard-earned money to the organisation? How can they talk about "the abundance of spritual fool" and "Jehovah's spiritual table" again???

i reckon the pointing out of errors is to save face, when streams notice differences in the new book - and it will discourage people studying out of the old ones, using them at the meetings and absorbing the changes that way.

A new paperback edition has been out for quite some time, I've got 2 copies at home. There are NO corrections to it though. The cover art is REALLY bad. It's like a print of the embossed picture that was on the hardcover. Looks really stupid. I don't think there is going to be a 2nd edition, in my opinion.

Aparently they are having trouble printing enough for the demand before the new study starts.

So drew, it seems that these paperback copies will most likely have the errors in it and the corrections will still have to be made by hand. You forget that people have come into the WTS since the Revelation book was last studied and will need copies. I doubt that any of them got them for their home libraries. Also, some JWs like to start out with a new book to underline/highlight and I would not be surprised if they are being encouraged to do so. After 3 times so far, some older JWs books must be marked up.

I still think some enterprising JW could make up some labels to place over the errors.
