My daughter is allergic to peanuts. She will have an anaphylactic reaction just from a small amount. Someone made a barbecue sauce with peanut butter. My daughter eats it, and soon after begans to vomit and became really ill. The other twin rushed her to the ER. My daughter has an Epi-pen, but I guess she didn't think to use it. ER took her right in and started pumping her with Benadryl and steroids. She's doing okay today. The doctor told her to use the Epi-pen even if she's on the way to the ER. I SAID THE SAME THING!!!!

I forgot to add that they gave her Pepcid for her stomach.

I'm glad she's ok. I once had a patient that had a severe reaction, she didn't eat the item made with peanut, the doctor thought maybe the same utensil had been used prior and just that little bit caused a reaction. Your daughter is very lucky!

Tell her I said "use the epipen"!

Sorry to hear that, one of my nephews also has an allergy to peanuts and in fact all nuts and also to all dairy products so from a very young age he had to be very careful with what he eats but he eventually took it in his stride.

pepcid is a histamine blocker similar to benadryl, i had to have it before when i had an allergic reaction.
