Well I'm just back, this evening, after am eight day trip of fun and frolicks.
It started last Friday, with my sister's wedding.
I'd spent the night at their house, with the Groom and Best man, so spent the morning helping them get ready.
They were both bags of nerves, and couldn't tie their neckties - LOL - exJW-dude to the rescue!!!
The wedding was in a hotel, where most of the guests were staying.
The groom picked up a Porsche convertible, to get himself and his brother (the Bestman) to the wedding, while I finished up in the house.
My sister was led in by a Piper, and the ceremony was conducted by a retired "Church of Scotland" minister (the denomination the Groom's family was raised in).
I was invited to lead the singing (Psalm 100 and "Bind us together"), and retained the title "the singing guy" for the rest of the evening - LOL.
The after wedding party was fun. Plenty of dancing, from disco to highland, etc.
I finally rolled home just before 2am.
On the Saturday I travelled down to Manchester, to see Simon and Ang, before the Fest.
The boys were in good spirits, kicking ass with "Simpsons II".
Later we headed to the Fest where every one else was late (apparently hair doesn't dry so quickly in Manchester ).
The Fest was fun. I took the rip out of Gadget...
...erm, lots!!!
...Probably a bit too much, actually, but I was on a roll - LOL.
Btw, he is inordinately ticklinsh - hehehe.
If there was one negative on the whole evening it was the entertainment.
Imagine with me, if you will, a Manchester guy singing with a "put on" American accent.
Then imagine the corniest, most repetitive song, being sung at least three times, during the evening.
If I hear "Missi {gawddammed) sippi burning" one more time
The "master of ceremonies" (for want of a better title) apologised, when calling for last orders (much to our amusement) afterwhich most of us headed back to a hotel, for a couple more hours.
The highlight there (which had Rebbot and I in stiches) was seeing an old guy toddle off into the washroom. He later returned, with his jacket tucked neatly into the back of his trousers - ROFL.
Sadly the swimming pool and the "Spanish Room" (???) were closed.
The next day we all met up again, with additions to the party (), and enjoyed a Chinese meal together.
It was my first visit to the "Trafford Centre" and I was impressed.
After saying our goodbyes I headed off to see Dansk and Physio, with Fe3O2Girl, and we had a nice couple of hours chatting there.
Finally I headed back North for a course. I was supposed to have foreshortened it, to get home for more work, however a few jobs got cancelled allowing me to stay on until today.
An interesting developement, on my return, was that several people IM'ed me with a link to another site where it was being alleged that I was "Caspian" - ROFL
I've never herd anything so preposterous (as anyone who has talked to I and Caspian on the phone will tell you).
It was a shame that he didn't manage to turn up, though, as it would have been nice to finally meet the "man of mystery".
"Thanks" to those who informed me, though. It's always nice to know what people are saying about you.
So, here I am, weary but content.
It was a good trip, and I've already got things pretty much back in order.
Here's to the next Fest
